Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What instruments does the band use?
 A: Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion

Q: Do I have to be a military veteran to join the band?
A: No, all players are welcome.

 Q: Is there an audition?
A: No audition. The only requirement common courtesy.

 Q: Is there a fee?
A: No fees. We even give you a free band shirt after your second performance.

Q: Is it OK if I can't make all the performances?
A: Yes. We have a lot of performances and almost no one can make all of them. Just make as many as you can.

Q: I only have seasonal availability (Snowbird, Teacher, Student, etc.) Can I join?
A: Absolutely. Snowbirds and other seasonal players are common and welcome in the band.

Q: How hard is the music?
A: Music difficulty is relative. We have middle schools students and professionals sitting next to each other.  Music is selected to be challenging but playable with practice.

Q: You already have enough players on my instrument. Should I join?
A: Yes. Not all players can make every performance.  The band does not limit the number of players on an instrument.

Q: Why do you take the 3rd Tuesday off?
A: The rehearsal hall is not available at that time.

Q: Should I go to rehearsal even if I can't make the next performance.
A: Yes. Unlike most bands we do not practice just for the next performance. We practice our whole repertoire so we are ready for ANY performance.
